I don't think Unity literally uses JScript. Rather it uses a custom implementation of Javascript written by OTEE themselves, based upon features from Boo. This is mentioned here and in the forum in a few places. I believe Keli wrote OTEE's implementation. I don't know anything about JScript, and it's possible that the two are behaviourally very similar, but it might be best to identify and explain the differences between the two things. --NCarter 12:36, 2 May 2007 (PDT)

  • NCarter is correct in that Unity does not use JScript; it uses a custom implementation of JavaScript (I think the name should be changed everywhere). Most of JavaScript's runtime and functionality is based on Boo. It is not written by Keli, rather by Rodrigo de Oliveira, author of Boo. --NeARAZ 21:42, 4 May 2007 (PDT)
  • OK, thanks for the feedback. JScript behaves similarly because it is also an implementation of ECMAScript 4. But since Unity uses a custom implementation I've removed the JScript references and mentioned where the Unity version came from and it's differences. Thanks. --lgoss007 15:03, 18 Jun 2007 (GMT)
